Mike and his wife, Johnnie Kay, just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have two grown sons, one daughter-in-law, and one granddaughter.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Dallas Baptist University, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth.

He was in full-time pastoral ministry for more than 43 years, retiring in 2019 after serving more than 17 years at First Baptist Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma. During his pastoral ministry, he served in 8 churches of all sizes ranging in Sunday morning attendance from 30 to 3,000.

He has participated in partnership missions in Brazil, England, Australia, Panama, and Colombia, in addition to serving in various denominational and associational leadership roles.
