Kevon made the decision to follow Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was 8 years old. He grew up in Soldier Creek Baptist Church where he was baptized. In 2007, He married Ashley Owen and they have two kids. Before he met Ashley he felt a calling to youth ministry and served as a youth ministry intern at Country Estates Baptist Church in 2006 before coming to FBC Jones in 2008. 

Kevon went to OBU for youth ministry. SNU where he got a bachelors degree in Family studies and gerontology, Mid-America Christian University where he got a masters in clinical psychotherapy, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he got a doctorate in counseling.
